LFA 151 consecrates Gabriel ‘Mosquitinho’ and Julia Polastri as new champions

In its first edition in Brazil this year, held this Saturday in Cajamar-SP, the LFA consecrated two new champions. In the main event, Gabriel Santos, “Mosquitinho”, got the better of José Delano to win the featherweight title; in the co-main, the Brazilian Julia Polastri overcame the Argentine Brenda Gotting and became the queen of the straws.

The feud for the featherweight crown was an electrifying fight. From the beginning, “Mosquitinho” went on the attack and Delano, on the counterattack, with actions on both sides. In this tone, “Mosquitinho” won the first two rounds. In the third, the definition: a punch to the waistline that made Delano bend over and the referee interrupted.

With the triumph, by technical knockout at 51 seconds of the third round, Gabriel “Mosquitinho”, from Ceará, 26 years old, in addition to the LFA featherweight belt, still maintained his record of 100% success, with 10 wins, 70% of them fast track, in 10 fights fought as a professional.

In the previous fight, the fight valid for the female strawweight belt was less balanced. Argentina’s Brenda Gotting even started by taking the initiative and taking down Julia Polastri to invest in ground and pound, but the Brazilian showed superiority even with her back to the ground and used an armbar to stay on top.

From then on, what was seen was a veritable monologue by Julia Polastri, who gave the final numbers to the duel with a katagatame at 4 minutes and 50 seconds of the first round. In addition to the crown of Queen of Strawweights, Julia Polastri, 24 years old, expanded her record to 11 wins in 14 disputed fights, 54% in a fast way.

Of the 13 fights at the event, nine ended quickly, seven in the first round. The other standouts were Jonas Bilharinho, who with a kick to the belt overcame Caio Machado by technical knockout in the second round; and Anderson “Buzica”, who also dispatched Milson Castro in the opening round via technical knockout.

Marco Túlio “Robocop” and Jefferson “Toddynho” passed Weldon “Mutante” and Matheus Rocha, respectively, by TKO in the first round; just like Manuel Minoto and Michael “PQD” did with Joabson Alves and Clever Souza, respectively. Gabriel Souza submitted Lucas Escobar with a guillotine choke after 63 seconds of the duel.

The LFA returns to Brazil, again in the municipality of Cajamar, on March 10, with the 154th edition, with two belt disputes. For the middleweight title, Lucas Fernando measures forces against Jansey “Jones”; and for the heavyweights, Eduardo “Bbzão” Neves faces Hyago “BRT”.
