The judge of the Court of Criminal Executions of the Court of Justice of Amazonas Luís Carlos Valois had his accounts on social networks blocked by determination of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). He stated that he does not know why and has not received any subpoena. Sought, the CNJ has not yet returned to the report of the People’s Gazette.
“I don’t know the reason yet, I haven’t been subpoenaed, but even out of respect for the CNJ’s decision, I won’t manifest myself on the networks even with the account not yet blocked. You will not see any complaints or accusations from people on my part, if institutionally I made a mistake, may this be resolved fairly”, said Valois on Instagram, before being suspended.
Before being suspended, the judge used to defend left-wing positions and better conditions for prisoners on his social networks. Recently, he spoke about the arrest of protesters who invaded and destroyed public buildings on January 8th. He also gave an interview to journalist Luis Nassif about the situation of the demonstrators, supporting Alexandre de Moraes’ measures.
On social media, before the blockade, people expressed support for the judge. “The persecution of you is a bad indication of how much the correctional activity of our justice is contaminated by interests and ideologies”, in one of the comments.
Instagram and Facebook will not comment on the case and the report was unable to contact Twitter.
Last year, in June, the CNJ also instituted an administrative disciplinary process to investigate the conduct of Luís Carlos Valois. According to the national justice inspector, Minister Maria Thereza de Assis Moura, procedural and management irregularities were found in the Criminal Execution Court of Manaus, in an inspection carried out in 2017.
