Leader of the largest block in the Chamber, deputy Felipe Carreras (PSB-PE) argues that the Fake News PL be sliced into three proposals, separating copyright, remuneration for journalistic content and the regulation of platforms.
In his assessment, this would facilitate the approval of devices. “A lot of subjects ended up entering the fake news environment, which distorted the PL”, he said.
“There are three different projects there, which are urgent and which could be voted on with different debates, with different rapporteurs, with different project nomenclatures.”
Without these changes, he says, “he hardly [PL das Fake News] it goes to the plenary, because we already saw that maybe we don’t have a vote to approve it.”
The rapporteur for the project in the Chamber, Deputy Orlando Silva (PC do B-SP), asked that the text be removed from the agenda at the May 2 session. Since then, the governing base has been discussing how to facilitate the approval of the proposal. One of the ideas on the table is to vote separately on the part related to copyright, keeping the other topics in the project reported by Orlando Silva.
