Last weekend, in the districts of Matapi and Maruanum, the last selections of the 45th edition of the Interdistrict took place. 30 teams of male and female teams took part in the competition with the aim of winning a place in the final.
The winning teams in the male categories were Torrão do Matapi, São Sebastião do Maruanum. As for women, the teams from Areal do Matapi, Carmo do Maruanam stood out. In the position of vice, in the male were the communities of Curralinho and São Pedro do Maruanum. In the female category were Torrão do Matapi and Conceição do Maruanum.
The teams that won first place take home a prize of R$1,000 and the runner-up R$700. Now, the teams that passed the selections are preparing for the grand final that takes place in March, on the 25th, 26th and 27th. The final will be at the CT of Santos Futebol Clube, in Macapá.
The championship is an initiative of the Municipality of Macapá, through the Municipal Coordination of Sports and Leisure (Eat), to give non-federated athletes the chance to participate in a football event in their districts, in addition to boosting the local economy and providing an option for sports entertainment to the population.
