Lakers, Warriors and Bucks win and react in the NBA; Celtics remain dominant

A day after making history in the NBA by breaking the barrier of 38,000 points, LeBron James returned to the load on Monday night and showed that he wants more. The star scored 48 points and led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 140-132 victory over the Houston Rockets at home. The round also had the Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks back to winning ways in the regular season. The Boston Celtics remain dominant.

In Los Angeles, LeBron wasn’t just the top scorer. He went close to a “triple-double” with two, nine assists and eight rebounds. The California team was coming from three consecutive defeats, the last of them to the Philadelphia 76ers, on Sunday night, when the star got closer to becoming the greatest scorer in NBA history.

“I was extremely exhausted today. I could easily ask to be taken off. But I wanted to sit on that loss to Philly last night. I needed to get that loss out of my mind and see what we could do on the court today. It was a complete team effort. And I just tried to make a few plays.”

With their 20th win in 44 games, the Lakers remain in 13th place in the Western Conference table. The Rockets have their worst record of the season so far. They are in last place in the West, with only 10 wins and 34 defeats.

Away from home, the Golden State Warriors overcame the Washington Wizards by 127 to 118 and won again in the NBA. The current champions live an irregular and disappointing season for their fans, without being able to score a series of victories. So much so that they are only in seventh place in the West, outside the playoff classification zone with the same number of victories and defeats: 22.

Showing that he is fully recovered from injury, Stephen Curry was the scorer of the duel, with 41 points. And Jordan Poole contributed 32, same score as Kristaps Porzingis, Wizards standout, currently 12th in the East (18 wins, 26 losses).

For the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Indiana Pacers by 132 to 119, at home, and returned to fight for the first positions. It is in third place, with 28 triumphs and 16 defeats. The positive result was achieved despite the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team’s main player. Jrue Holiday took charge and led the team, with a “double-double” of 35 points and 11 assists. Myles Turner, with 30 points, was the highlight of the Pacers.

Imposing strong dominance in this half of the NBA regular season, the Boston Celtics made another victim this Monday. Away from home, he defeated the Charlotte Hornets by 130 to 118, in an inspired night by Jayson Tatum. There were 51 points and nine rebounds. On the other side, the Hornets had 26 points from Jalen McDaniels.

Best team of the season so far, the Boston Celtics have 33 wins and 12 losses. The Hornets live in the opposite situation, with the 15th and last place in the Eastern Conference, with 11 wins and 34 losses.
