Kassio Nunes goes to STF sessions with drain due to infection – 04/28/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Kassio Nunes Marques is using a drain in the face-to-face sessions he participates in the court to help him in the treatment of an intestinal problem.

The magistrate has already been admitted to hospitals more than once because of a bacterium in the digestive system that he cannot overcome.

He is now having drainage and taking antibiotics. If the treatment does not have the desired effect of closing an intestinal fistula, Nunes will have to undergo surgery.

On Friday (28), the government appointed Judge Neuton Ramos to the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region. According to Lula’s interlocutors (PT), the nomination responded to a request by Nunes Marques.

Neuton Ramos was part of a list of nine names sent to Lula to fill seven vacancies in the TRF-1. Two names on the list were left out – one of them, João Carlos Mayer, was a candidate for the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), and Kassio Nunes Marques himself. And he had the endorsement of the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha.

The exclusion generated a crisis involving the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, accused of running over Lira and Padilha when he took the list to Lula to make the nominations official.

The publication of the list in the Official Gazette was even suspended for several days because of the imbroglio – until Lula returned from his trip to Europe and decided to keep it.
