Kansas City Chiefs beat Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs are the champions of the Super Bowl after beating the Philadelphia Eagles by 38 to 35, this Sunday night (12) in Arizona, in the United States. In a game that Philadelphia dominated for three quarters, in the last 15 minutes, KC took the reins of the match and started to lead the scoreboard for the first time. With a lot of balance, the final quarter was of emotion and show of the two quarterbacks, but the Chiefs prevailed by controlling the clock and converting a field goal in the end.

Patrick Mahomes heads the Chiefs to their second biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. Jalen Hurts broke the record for most rushing TDs in a Super Bowl, scoring three and also scoring a two-point conversion.

Mahomes puts his name in KC history at the age of 27. That’s three Super Bowls and two championships in a span of four seasons. With the retirement of Tom Brady, Mahomes confirms himself as the biggest star in the NFL, playing in the same position as the GOAT.

In the first campaign of the game, the Eagles already scored a touchdown, with Jalen Hurts jumping from the half-yard line to the end zone. The Chiefs responded with a neat pass from Mahomes to Travis Kelce. KC even had the chance to turn the score around, after nullifying the opponent’s attack and having a field goal in favor, but kicker Butker wasted the kick.

The game looked favorable for Philadelphia, who scored again on a pass from Hurts to AJ Brown and, soon after, forced Kansas’s punt. However, at the beginning of another campaign, the Eagles quarterback lets the ball escape after the snap and sees Nick Bolton return to tie 14-14.

The tiebreaker came with another Hurts touchdown, with two minutes left on the clock. In what could have been their last possession before half-time, Mahomes not only missed the chance to get ahead, he limped off the pitch. With time on the clock, the Eagles took advantage and converted a field goal to be 24 to 14 on the scoreboard.

The good news was Mahomes’ return after going into the locker room in pain. The quarterback proved to be in good shape as he advanced well to secure an important first down, which resulted in a touchdown soon after by Pacheco.

And while the Eagles wasted campaigns, scoring only one field goal until the beginning of the last quarter, the Chiefs turned the game with a TD by Kadarius Toney. The dominance followed after a punt return from KC that took the ball to the five-yard line, paving the way for another touchdown, this time from Skyy Moore, opening the advantage to 35 to 27.

The Pennsylvania team responded with five minutes left in normal time. Again, Jalen Hurts put the ball under his arm and scored his fourth TD of the night, in addition to also converting the two extra points, to tie the game.
