The Court determined the blockage of R$ 151,000 from Giselle Bezerra, wife of former presidential candidate Ciro Gomes (PDT), so that compensation can be paid to São Paulo councilor Fernando Holiday (Republicans).
Holiday sues Ciro for calling him the “little captain of the bush” in 2018. The reference is to the fact that some blacks acted in the persecution of slaves before the abolition of this regime.
The initial claim for compensation was R$ 48,000, an amount that increased due to interest and monetary correction, since Ciro did not make the payment. In a decision of the last April 12th, the Court of Justice of São Paulo affirms that it did not find assets to be pledged in the name of Ciro, and for that reason it blocked his wife, in accordance with what the Code of Civil Procedure allows. .
