The Federal Court of the Federal District responded to the request made by the Advocacy-General of the Union (AGU) and ordered the blocking of assets of 40 prisoners in flagrante delicto during acts of vandalism, in Brasília, on the 8th. -feira (30), which obtained the decision in the context of the second precautionary action filed “to ensure reimbursement to the public coffers in case of subsequent final conviction of those involved”.

With the determination, 92 people and seven companies suspected of financing or participating in the violent protests had their assets blocked. On Friday (27), the AGU forwarded the third precautionary request for the blocking of assets, which affects 42 people. The court has yet to review the new request.

“In the actions, the AGU defends that all those involved, whether financiers or predators, should be jointly and severally liable for the damage caused to public property – which so far is estimated at R$ 18.5 million. At least BRL 4.3 million in vehicles of the people and companies involved are already blocked”, said the agency, in a note.

The AGU reported that federal judge Francisco Alexandre Ribeiro considered that there are “strong indications, therefore, that the said defendants participated in the anti-democratic acts and demonstrations that culminated in the invasion and mass depredation of the official headquarters of the Three Powers of the Republic, which is why why the Union’s thesis that they contributed to the attainment of massive damage to public property is absolutely plausible”.
