Judge meets Vinícius Júnior’s request and postpones testimony

The head judge of the instruction court number 10 in Valencia, Spain, postponed this Tuesday (27), without setting a new date, the testimony of Vinícius Júnior in the case of racist offenses that the Real Madrid attacking midfielder received at the stadium Mestalla in the last month of May.

The player’s lawyers, who in recent days have posted photos that appear to have been taken in Miami, in the United States, yesterday asked for the postponement of the video call testimony, which had been scheduled last month, according to EFE’s findings from sources in the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community.

The judge in charge of the case accepted the request of the Brazilian, who was the one who denounced, still on the field of play, the manifestations of hatred that occurred during the match between Valencia and Real Madrid, valid for the Spanish Championship.

With the postponement, it now remains to set a new date for Vinícius Júnior to present his version of the case.

After the match at Mestalla, the league that organizes the Spanish Championship filed a complaint for the facts that occurred, as it had already done in other similar situations, experienced by both Vinícius Júnior and other players.

In addition to the Valencia fan who was recognized by the Brazilian while still on the field, the police identified two others, based on recordings made by the stadium’s cameras. The club announced that those caught will be permanently banned from entering the stadium.

The union of clubs in the Spanish first division demands that the insults uttered against Vinícius be analyzed as he got off the Real bus, upon arrival at the stadium.
