The expectation is that the project will be approved in the next days of voting by Aleam
Manaus (AM) – Authored by Congresswoman Joana Darc (União Brasil), Bill No. 31/2023 is being processed by the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), with the proposal to authorize the Executive Branch to establish special conditions for the entry of people with Spectrum Disorder Autistic (TEA), in the bodies of the direct and indirect Public Administration of the state public service. The proposal aims to encourage and encourage the inclusion of People with Disabilities (PwD) in the world of work.
The justification for the PL argues that it is Aleam’s responsibility to provide for state programs and plans, in accordance with the State Constitution in Art. 27, VIII – state, regional and sectoral development plans and programs. At first, the common competence for the protection and guarantee of people with disabilities stands out, since it is the jurisdiction of the Union, the States, the Federal District and the Municipalities to take care of health and public assistance, the protection and guarantee of the rights for PCD
“The topic addressed in this PL is of great relevance for the autistic population of Amazonas, as we need to show that inclusion must go beyond paper. We know that they develop their potential from an early age, however, there is still a lot of lack of information. Not to mention that prejudice often hinders the chances of an autistic person getting a job and staying in the job market”,
defends the author of the proposition.
The expectation is that the project will be approved in the coming days of voting by Aleam. It is worth noting that Congresswoman Joana Darc was appointed vice-president of the Commission on Human Rights, Persons with Disabilities and Social Promotion.
