Jiu-Jitsu Championship promises to stir up Angra dos Reis in April; check out

One of the most beautiful cities in Rio de Janeiro – and in Brazil -, Angra dos Reis will host, on April 9th, the Angra International Jiu-Jitsu Cup. This will be the second edition of the event organized by the CBJJD in partnership with the ISBJJA, which arrives with the promise of revolutionizing the local gentle art scene.

At Angra International Cup 2023, in addition to the traditional disputes, other attractions will be the super fights of the New Talents Challenge – already traditional in the Mineirinho Circuit – and the Super GP Black Belt, between adult and master black belts, which will give the champion an international pass .

In the last edition, the winning teams were Gaditas BJJ School (children to children and youth) and Brazilian Top Team (juvenile, adult and master). And for this year’s event, they again arrive with a thirst for victory.

Emmanuel highlights investment in local Jiu-Jitsu

Responsible for the Gaditas BJJ School – gym and social project – black belt Emmanuel Brollo Junior praised CBJJD’s investment in local Jiu-Jitsu. According to him, other confederations/federations passed through the city, but none managed to deliver quality work before. Now, the scenario is one of evolution.

“Our expectation for the Angra International Cup is the best possible. Every time there is a championship of this size here, investing in the South Fluminense region, especially in Angra, we make a point of valuing it. In 2022 it was excellent, with almost 800 athletes, and this year again we expect a gentle art party”, said Emmanuel, who added:

“The CBJJD is a confederation that we know has been investing heavily in athletes, events, with cash prizes, international tickets, so it’s a totally professional job. Many events passed through Angra, they talked, they promised, but the CBJJD arrived and he did”.

Emmanuel also projected the participation of the Gaditas BJJ School in search of the second championship: “We are the current champion team from the junior to the junior, we have a very strong work with children in Angra, for 10 years, and now we are reaping the fruits. encourages this professional path, offers English classes, nutritionist, physical preparation, psychologist, the whole package so that they can develop”.

Reinaldo sees a strong team in search of the second championship

Leader of the Brazilian Top Team (BTT) in Angra, black belt Reinaldo Fernandes Rei is another Angra International Cup enthusiast. According to him, the last edition lived up to expectations and excited the crowd to return after the youth, adult and master team titles.

“I’ve been teaching here since 1996 and this is the biggest Jiu-Jitsu event the city has ever hosted. 2022 was good, but this year we came back more prepared and with more athletes who are already training hard to win the second championship. With a lot of humility, sweat and will, we will get there”, said Reinaldo, before closing:

“I hope in the name of Jesus that some old man will show up for me to fight too (laughs). If not, I’ll play with the adult myself. The important thing is for us to do what we love, be beside the students, help, see their growth, even more with this valorization of the CBJJD. We were lacking in good championships here in Angra and the confederation came to change that”.

At the end of the season, the champions of the 2022/23 ranking of the Circuito Nacional Mineirinho – a sum of all stages – will win tickets to international competitions of the ISBJJA in Europe.
