The first lady, Rosângela Silva – known as Janja – is expected to gain an official position to institutionalize her participation in federal government meetings and ceremonies. Since Lula (PT) assumed the presidency, Janja has tried to occupy a prominent place in the PT administration. She currently has her own office on the third floor of the Planalto Palace, the same floor as Lula’s office, where she usually works daily with her team.

The position to be created, which the first lady should assume shortly, is responsible for the new “Office of Strategic Actions in Public Policies”. In her post, she would coordinate politics between different areas of the Esplanada and advise the President of the Republic.

Members of the government’s Communication area say that Janja does not impose her opinions, she only makes occasional suggestions about her vision for each topic. However, it actively participates in government agendas, in addition to having its own agendas and agendas. Janja is also usually present at various events alongside Lula. Recently, for example, she was at Lula’s side during the meeting with the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
