Gloria Maria, who died at the age of 73 this Thursday (2), at the Copa Star Hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, lived her reports intensely and used to share with the public the experiences she went through around the world. In 2016, in a report in Jamaica for “Globo reporter”, she participated in a ritual in which she tried “ganja”, an herb compared to marijuana, and took a test drive on a roller coaster. The reporter’s reaction to the situations was popular with Internet users and became a meme.

“I look for a mall and buy something. If I don’t find it, I improvise. I’m tired of using my cameraman’s underwear instead of panties, for example. And I also used my technician’s jeans”, recalls the journalist, who takes a far from basic bag to spend 20-something days abroad: “I carry a container and take possibilities of winter and summer clothes. In many countries you face different temperatures. Sometimes, we arrive at airports that look like a chicken coop. In addition to my suitcase, I also help to load camera, light…”
