President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Thursday (23) that the Federal Police operation to dismantle the PCC’s plan against authorities may have been a setup by former judge and senator Sergio Moro (União PR). The petista claimed that he would be “suspicious” about the revelations about the plan to kill Moro and other authorities.
“I will not speak because I think it is another set up by Moro. I’m going to find out what happened because it’s visible that it’s a set-up by Moro”, said the president during an agenda at the Naval Complex of Itaguaí, in the metropolitan region of Rio, where the Submarine Development Program (Prosub) of the Navy of the Brazil.
Also according to the PT, his mistrust was due to the fact that Judge Gabriela Hardt was on vacation when she signed the arrest and search and seizure warrants carried out by Federal Police agents. “I’m going to research and find out the reason for the sentence, it seems that the judge wasn’t even active when she gave him her opinion. But that’s for us to wait”, said Lula.
The president also said that if the senator for Paraná is lying, he will be “unmasked”. “I think it’s more of a setup and, if it’s a setup, he’s going to be exposed even more and I don’t know what he’s going to do with his life if he keeps lying the way he’s lying,” he added.
PF carries out operation to arrest group that planned attacks against authorities
The Federal Police carried out this Wednesday (22) an operation to arrest a criminal group that planned to carry out attacks against public servants and authorities. Among the actions, the suspects even intended homicides and extortion through kidnapping.
The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, informed that among the possible victims was a senator and a prosecutor. Former judge Sergio Moro would be one of the targets of the criminal group, and the prosecutor of SP, Lincoln Gakiya, was the other mentioned. In all, nine people were arrested and two remain at large.
According to the PF, the attacks were planned in five units of the federation: Rondônia, Paraná, Federal District, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. In all, 24 search and seizure warrants, seven preventive arrest warrants and four temporary arrest warrants were issued against suspects and addresses located in Rondônia, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo and Paraná.
