According to the investigation, the Federal Police will cross-check data to try to identify all donors of the R$ 17 million that the former president received via Pix

Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) told CNN that there is no irregularity in donations via Pix, made by his supporters in recent months.

“Pix started in June. It is absurd to accuse money laundering. There is nothing wrong. Will see. One million people donated.”

Bolsonaro told CNN on Thursday (24).

According to CNN’s findings, the Federal Police will cross data to try to identify all donors of the R$ 17 million that the former president received via Pix.

Investigators want to know if there was fraud and suspect money laundering.

To carry out the “scan”, the PF will use the information obtained with the breach of banking and tax secrecy of Bolsonaro and his wife, Michelle, authorized by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes.

The PF still intends to collaborate with the Public Ministry to access the Interbank Transactions Investigation System (Simba).

A report produced by the Financial Activities Control Council (Coaf), the federal government’s anti-money laundering body, points out that the former president received R$ 17.2 million via Pix in his personal account in the first six months of this year. .

Coaf data show that, between January 1 and July 4, Bolsonaro received more than 769 thousand transactions through Pix, which totaled R$ 17,196,005.80.
The amount corresponds to almost all of the turnover made by the former president in the period, R$ 18,498,532.66.

The data were sent by Coaf to the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) which investigates the criminal acts of January 8 in the National Congress.
At the beginning of the month, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), one of the former president’s sons, stated that the Coaf data were leaked from the CPMI.
