Intercultural Games in the Kuahí village will gather more than 300 participants, in Oiapoque – News of Brazil

With the objective of promoting the approximation and exchange of cultural experiences, customs and values among indigenous peoples, the State Government is supporting the Intercultural Games of Amapá, promoted by the Majuriká Institute. The event will take place on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of July, in the village of Kuahí, in the municipality of Oiapoque.
The expectation is to bring together around 300 participants, from different villages and age groups, who competed in the modalities of spear throwing, blowgun, bow and flexa, home race, log race and soccer.
The Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (Sedel) is responsible for supporting the organization of competitions and also for transporting indigenous people from other villages. “As the name says, the objective of the Intercultural Games is to promote the relationship between the villages, where people will exchange a little of their culture, customs and values”highlighted the Sedel manager, Rudney Cunha.
