Insurers report increase in flood insurance in SP – 03/28/2023 – Panel SA

Insurers saw the triggering of services for floods skyrocket in the first months of this year in the wake of the heavy rains that hit the coast of São Paulo in February.

Bradesco Seguros claims to have recorded, in São Paulo, a 43% increase in the use of its service for homes that covers damage caused by extreme weather events such as windstorms and floods in the first quarter of 2023, compared to the same period last year. .

On the same basis of comparison, the emergency model for cars grew 210%, according to the company.

Youse, a digital company in the sector, registered 53 requests for tow trucks on the coast of São Paulo during Carnival week alone. Around 30% of the requests came from São Sebastião, according to the insurance company.

Still according to the company, throughout the country, the activation of its services for floods jumped by 48% in the first two months, compared to the same period last year.
