The Chinese embassy in Brazil and the Confucius Institute at Unesp (Universidade Estadual Paulista) will offer a free basic Chinese course for journalists and communication students. Classes will be online and will take place twice a week, from March 27 to June 25 – there is still no set schedule.
The organizers’ idea is that, after the three-month course, students will be able to participate in practical dialogues in everyday situations. Classes will also cover cultural aspects of China.
Participants who successfully meet the requirements will receive a certificate of completion issued by the institute. The group will have around 20 students, and those with the best performance will win trips to the Asian country for cultural exchange.
The Confucius Institute, based in China, aims to promote the teaching of Chinese language and culture. The organization is present in 146 countries and also operates in 12 other cities in the interior of São Paulo, in addition to Manaus (AM) and São Luís (MA). In Brazil, the agency also applies the HSK, HSKK and YCT Chinese language proficiency exams.
Entries can be made until the next 17th using the course form on Google Docs. Click here to subscribe.
