Instagram: learn how to edit message and turn off viewing – 03/04/2024 – Tech

Instagram chat will be more similar to WhatsApp starting this Monday (4). The social photo network now allows you to edit, pin and disable message viewing.

The news was announced by Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Meta, the holding company that controls both applications. The feature is now available in Brazil.

People will be able to edit texts on Instagram within 15 minutes of sending them. Changed messages have the “edited” stamp, but do not have an edit history.

To correct the message or change part of the content, press the text bubble until a floating menu appears. Then, just select the “edit” option and rewrite the sentence as you wish.

To fix the message, the process is similar. Simply press the conversation with the interlocutor to be highlighted until the application displays the floating menu. Then choose the “Pin” function.

Pinned chats stay at the top of the conversation list, regardless of when the last message was sent.

The option to disable message viewing, launched on the 31st, is available in the application settings.

In the settings menu, look for the “messages and responses to stories” section. There, access the “Show read receipts” option and disable it.

When the feature is deactivated, the user no longer sees that their interlocutors have read their messages as well.

Like WhatsApp, Instagram now also allows you to choose an image as the background for conversations and also save your favorite stickers for easier sending.
