INSS starts paying pensions with readjustment of up to 5.93% – 02/01/2023 – Market

The INSS (National Institute of Social Security) starts paying benefits above the minimum wage this Wednesday (1st). Deposits continue until February 7th, with interruption at the weekend and according to the final number of the benefit, without considering the digit.

For those already receiving retirement or pension in January 2022, the readjustment will be 5.93%, equivalent to the INPC (National Consumer Price Index) accumulated last year. Beneficiaries who started receiving INSS income from February 2022 have the first proportional adjustment.

Payments for those who receive the floor have already started on January 25th and also continue until February 7th. This Wednesday will be the turn of those who receive R$ 1,302 and have the benefit ended in 6.

Retirees and pensioners should consider that the benefit with readjustment may have a IR (Income Tax) discount, if they are above the exemption limit.

Those who receive up to R$ 1,903.98 do not pay the tax and retirees and pensioners who are 65 years of age or older have an advantage: the Federal Revenue exempts an extra portion of R$ 1,903.98 from the benefit.

First benefit payment schedule with readjustment

For those who earn more than the minimum wage (adjustment of up to 5.93%):

Final deposit date
1 and 6 Feb/01
2 and 7 Feb/02
3 and 8 Feb/03
4 and 9 Feb/06
5 and 0 Feb/07

For those who earn up to the minimum wage (R$ 1,302):

Final deposit date
1 25/jan
two 26/jan
3 jan/27
4 30/jan
5 Jan/31
6 Feb/01
7 Feb/02
8 Feb/03
9 Feb/06
0 Feb/07

First readjustment is proportional

Those who started receiving INSS payments in February last year will have the correction proportional to the accumulated inflation from the month of beginning of the benefit until December.

If the beneficiary received the minimum wage of BRL 1,212 last year, the INSS income rises to BRL 1,302, regardless of the date on which the benefit was granted.

Complete INSS payment schedule in 2023

The payment date depends on the last benefit number, without considering the digit. For example, if it was 987,654,321-0, the payment would be on the date established for the number 1.

The insured person can consult the amounts in his bank statement and in the My INSS benefits payment statement, through the website or application. If it is the first access, you will need to answer some questions about the history of contributions and register a password.

How to consult the extract

After entering the password, on the home screen, in the “My Benefits” box, the insured must click on the eye symbol. The January accrual will appear, the final value of the benefit (after discounts), the expected payment date and whether or not it is blocked for loans.

By clicking on “Detail”, on the next page, the system will show the final retirement amount (after discounts) and the amount that is available for payroll, if any. If you click on “View payment statement”, the gross amount of the new benefit and details of the discounts, if any, will appear.

What appears in the extract

  • MR value for the period: gross benefit amount, with the annual readjustment, without considering the discounts
  • Consignment bank loan (if any): discount of the loan that the insured person has in progress
  • Deduction for beneficiaries over 65 years old: Retirees and pensioners are entitled to an additional quota of exemption from Income Tax
  • Income tax: Value of the discount made at source, for benefits above the exemption limit
  • Other discounts may also appear, such as associations and unions, for example.
