INSS calls on more than 4 million to test their lives – 02/01/2024 – Market

The INSS (National Social Security Institute) is notifying 4,351,557 beneficiaries born in January, February and March across the country to prove that they are alive. These are people that the institute was unable to locate in any database to carry out the procedure called proof of life.

The insured is being notified through the Meu INSS application, through Central 135, and/or at the bank where he receives the benefit.

As soon as the insured receives the notification, they have up to 60 days to contact the INSS or the bank where they receive the benefit to carry out proof of life. After this period, payment may be blocked.

According to the INSS, 3,089,043 people born in January and February have already been notified. This Thursday (1st) it will be the turn of 1,262,514 who have a birthday in March who have not taken the life test for more than 12 months.

Since January 2023, INSS beneficiaries do not need to go to the bank to take the annual proof of life. It is up to the social security body to cross-reference information from the databases of bodies, entities or institutions, maintained or administered by federal, state, municipal and private public bodies to check whether the insured are alive.

Information is used such as access to the Meu INSS application with the gold seal, taking out a loan using biometric recognition, carrying out a medical examination, vaccination, updates to CadÚnico (registration for federal government social programs) and income tax declaration.

For inactive federal public servants and Union pensioners, proof of life is made on the Sougov.br and Gov.br apps or at the bank branch where the payment is made. The procedure must be carried out in the month of the beneficiary server’s birthday.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOU NEED TO TAKE THE LIFE TEST

The beneficiary can access the Meu INSS website or application or call Central 135 to check the last confirmation of life made by the INSS.

If the body has not been able to provide proof after ten months of the anniversary, the INSS will send a notification via the app, Central 135 or the bank, and the insured will have 60 days to carry out one of the procedures that are valid as proof of life.

• Enter your CPF and password
• Click on “What do you need?” and write “Proof of life”
• If you have biometrics collected from the TSE or Denatran, it will be possible to provide digital proof of life in conjunction with the Gov.br application.

CAN I TAKE THE LIFE TEST AT THE BANK

Yes, but the procedure is no longer mandatory, as it is up to the INSS to prove that the insured is alive. If you wish, the beneficiary can go in person to a Social Security agency or to the bank where they receive the payment.

There is also the possibility of proof being made through an attorney registered with the INSS, if the insured is unable to attend in person due to illness, hospitalization or mobility difficulties.

WHAT IS THE DATE TO TAKE THE LIFE TEST

The INSS has ten months, from the insured’s birthday, to obtain proof. If this is not possible, the agency notifies the beneficiary through the Meu INSS application, Central 135 or through a statement from the bank so that they can carry out, within 60 days, one of the procedures included in the data crossing.

If the procedure is not carried out, the INSS will send a server to the address included in the insured person’s registration to carry out the proof of life. Therefore, the beneficiary must keep their data updated through the application or the Meu INSS website.

If unsuccessful, the institute will notify the beneficiary and block payment for 30 days. During this period, the insured can carry out proof of life through the banking network, using biometrics at an ATM or going in person to an INSS branch.

If there is still no proof of life, the benefit will be suspended after 30 days. If the suspension continues for six months, your social security income will be cancelled.
