Taxpayers who declared the 2023 Income Tax can check, as of this Monday (24), whether they will receive the refund in the third batch of payments. The consultation opens at 9 am, on the Federal Revenue website (click here), on the eCAC (Virtual Service Center) and on the Meu Imposto de Renda app.

In this batch, 5.6 million taxpayers will be covered, including priority and non-priority, who will receive R$ 7.5 billion. Money will be paid on Monday (31), to the account reported in the statement or by Pix. The values ​​will come with correction of the basic interest rate of the economy, the Selic, currently at 13.75% per year.

Of the total paid, R$ 5.6 billion are for taxpayers who have legal priority, of which 16,536 are elderly over 80 years old, 95,047 taxpayers between 60 and 79 years old, 9,740 taxpayers with some physical or mental disability or serious illness and 30,700 taxpayers whose main source of income is teaching.

Amounts will also be paid to 3.9 million who do not have legal priority, but who entered the priority queue because they used the pre-filled statement or chose to receive the refund through Pix. 1.6 million non-priority taxpayers who submitted the declaration by March 23 were also contemplated.

HOW TO CONSULT THE IR REFUND

THROUGH THE FEDERAL REVENUE WEBSITE:

  • Enter the Revenue website (www.gov.br/receitafederal) and click on “My Income Tax”

  • Go to “Consult the Refund”

  • Enter the CPF, date of birth and fiscal year, which in this case is 2023

  • Finally, check the captcha indicating that you are human and click on “Consult”

THROUGH MY INCOME TAX APPLICATION:

  • In the application, enter the registration password on Gov.br
  • In the “IRPF Services” tab, select the “Consult Refund” option
  • On the new page, enter CPF, date of birth and year of refund in question
  • Then click on “Consult”

HOW TO CONSULT THE DECLARATION EXTRACT IN THE ECAC

You need to access the eCAC (Virtual Service Center) of the Federal Revenue and have a silver or gold account on the gov.br website to access it. Click here to find out how to reach this level.

The user enters the gov.br CPF and password. Once logged in, go to the “My Income Tax (DIRF Extract)” option. In the IRPF Declarations box, there will be a message in IRPF 2023 with the words: “In the refund queue”. Therefore, the taxpayer is on the waiting list to receive it from the tax authorities.

Restitution is released in five batches

The Income Tax refund is paid in five batches, from May to September. Receive first those who are in some priority rule. At the end of the queue are those who submitted the Income Tax return last, are not on the list of priority taxpayers or left the fine mesh of 2023 or previous years.

In 2023, the Income Tax received 41,151,515 declarations and set a new record. Seven out of ten will refund. The first batch was paid on May 31st to 4.1 million people with a total of R$7.5 billion. The second had the values ​​released on June 30 to 5.1 million, and also added up to R$ 7.5 billion.

What if I am not in the refund queue? What do I do?

Taxpayers who have not yet entered any of the batches need to analyze, first of all, the IR delivery date. If you delivered in the first few days and still haven’t received it, it’s possible that you fell into the fine mesh. If you entered towards the end of the term, you will receive in the final batches.

Revenue explains that there are several message options generated in the eCAC. Understand each one of them.

  • Not delivered: Declaration not yet delivered

  • Processing: It is the first stage of declaration. Indicates that it has been received but is still being processed

  • Processed: Declaration was processed by the Revenue, but it can still be audited in up to five years. If there is tax to be paid or refunded, information is available by clicking on “Processed”

  • With pending: The Revenue found pending issues and the taxpayer can correct them through a rectifier or wait until January 2024 to send the documentation that proves the declared values

  • Under review: Declaration was received, but is under evaluation by the Revenue, awaiting presentation of documents that prove the data sent

  • Rectified: Previous statement was replaced by the rectifier

  • Cancelled: Declaration was canceled by the taxpayer or the tax administration

  • Hand treatment: Declaration is being analyzed by tax officials

Processing is usually done within 24 hours after delivery of the statement, according to the Revenue.
