Manaus (AM) – Governor Wilson Lima highlighted that the government’s priorities will continue in the social and job and income generation areas, and that he has the support of the state legislature for the execution of these projects over the next four years. The statement by the head of the state executive was made this Wednesday (1), at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Aleam), during the inauguration of state deputies elected and re-elected for the new legislature, and the election of the board of directors and presidency. of the Legislative Branch for the next two years.

“I have been talking a lot with the President of the Assembly so that his independence is guaranteed, and the Executive has respected this independence, understanding that we need to find what is convergent and what is of common interest for the state of Amazonas”,

declared Governor Wilson Lima.

The governor gave examples of laws passed in previous years, which made it possible to reduce taxes on the airline network in the state of Amazonas, create permanent State Aid, and open the Gas Market.

According to Wilson Lima, in his second term, the two main banners will continue in the social areas, with State Aid and the delivery of more popular restaurants from the Prato Cheio Program, and in the generation of employment and income, such as the defense of the Manaus Free Trade Zone and the diversification of economic activities, such as bioeconomy, forestry concessions and tourism.

Possession, election and jobs

The inauguration of state deputies, in the Ruy Araújo Plenary, was presided over by the dean of the House, Deputy Adjuto Afonso (União Brasil). Of the 24 sworn in, ten are new occupants of the state legislature and 14 were reappointed to office.

Subsequently, state deputy Roberto Cidade (União Brasil) was reappointed to the presidency of Aleam, by acclamation, for the 2023/2024 biennium, with deputy Carlinhos Bessa (PV) as 1st vice-president, deputy Alessandra (PV) 2nd vice-president Campêlo (PSC) and 3rd deputy Felipe Souza (Patriota).

This Thursday morning (2), Governor Wilson Lima will return to Aleam to read the Government Message, marking the opening of the 2023 legislative works, in which he will take stock of the actions of his first term and announce goals and perspectives for this second.
