In an event with Damares, ministers say that Lula is from God – 04/22/2023 – Panel

Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) was called Doctor Geraldo and praised by Bishop Samuel Ferreira during the National Convention of the Assemblies of God of the Ministry of Madureira, held this Friday (21), in Brasília.

At the event, Minister Wellington Dias (Social Development) said that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is “a man of God”.

In the 2022 elections, the then re-election candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PL) participated in campaign events at the church of Bishop Samuel.

Alckmin, Dias and Minister Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations) were at the event, in a nod to the evangelical public. Senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF), Bolsonaro’s former minister, and the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), also participated in the celebration.

Bolsonaro’s former Human Rights Minister greeted the Lula ministers and sat down next to Caiado.

In his speech, Ferreira said that the faithful could trust Alckmin and mentioned a passage from the Bible that mentions respect for the authorities and constituted Powers. The bishop also asked the vice president, whom he called Doctor Geraldo, to applaud.

Padilha said that his ministry was open to Congress, society and even the Ministry of Madureira.

“The church has a very important role, and we rely a lot on it so that Brazil can promote peace. Peace in families, in schools, in the protection of our children, in all environments, and the peace that can unite and rebuild our country,” said Lula’s minister.

“We believe the church will help us build justice and practice justice,” he added.

In October last year, after the first round of elections, Bishop Samuel Ferreira indicated that the press was not welcome in a cult that was part of Bolsonaro’s campaign agenda.

Before Bolsonaro went up to the pulpit to speak to the faithful who filled the church in the Brás neighborhood, in the central area of ​​São Paulo, the bishop threatened to sue communication vehicles that recorded the cult without authorization.
