In addition to spying on enemies, Bolsonaro’s government used Abin to monitor the president’s children’s surroundings

In addition to public authorities considered “adversaries” of the Jair Bolsonaro government, the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) illegally monitored people who had relationships with the children of the then President of the Republic. The information was given to the blog by interlocutors from the Federal Police who are monitoring the investigations. One of the most blatant cases is a friend of Jair Renan Bolsonaro – the former president’s “04” son. According to the investigation, Abin not only monitored this person’s location, but also spied on their computer communications. The collection of data and evidence is ongoing, but what investigators discovered was the use of Brazilian State resources, via Abin, to take care of Bolsonaro’s personal matters. On more than one occasion, then-president Jair Bolsonaro mentioned that he wanted “his police” – and that he would not expect to see his family and friends harmed. In the famous ministerial meeting on April 22, 2020, for example, Bolsonaro even used an expletive to say that he would not wait for the Federal Police to harm “his entire family” to make changes within the corporation. The interlocutors interviewed by the blog also confirm that, in addition to those around Bolsonaro’s children, authorities such as the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes and Gilmar Mendes and the then president of the Chamber Rodrigo Maia (União-RJ) were monitored.
