Manaus (AM) – The Women’s Health Mobile Unit vehicles performed more than 44.6 thousand procedures, including 9.6 medical consultations, 5.8 thousand nursing consultations, 14.8 thousand ultrasounds, 4.2 thousand preventive exams, more than 4 thousand mammograms and more than 2 thousand medication dispensations, in 2023. This Monday (19), the mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, visited the Carreta da Mulher that served patients on Vitória-Régia street, in the Santa Etelvina neighborhood, Zona North of Manaus.

Starting next Monday (26), the trailer will be installed in the parking lot of the Phelippe Daou shopping mall, in the Cidade de Deus neighborhood. This is the last week of the unit serving women in Santa Etelvina. During the first consultations of the day, the mayor heard from patients who were taking the opportunity to have a real check-up, due to the large number of exams and other services offered to women.

“This mobile women’s health unit provides medical consultations, prenatal care, mammograms, ultrasounds, preventive care, reproductive planning, vaccinations, and medication supply. It is the city hall providing quality health care to the population of the city of Manaus, especially where there are gaps in care. This way we will improve our rates in the city”,

highlighted Almeida.

Users of the unit, Ivone Araújo and Márcia Cristina, say that this is a unique opportunity to carry out consultations and exams at once close to home, avoiding appointments.

“Here you go to the doctor, get the referrals and take the exams right in the truck. So, it makes our lives easier”, said Ivone.

As for Márcia, the service was quick and efficient. “Here we have already managed to see the doctor, we are going to do the exam. Everything very fast. It made it really, really easier,” she added.
