The iFood application now offers an assistance center for couriers who are victims of discrimination. The initiative is a partnership with the Black Sisters in Law association, which offers job opportunities to black lawyers.

Cases of discrimination reported on the app will be directed to a lawyer and a psychologist from Black Sister in Law, so that there is assistance. Johnny borges, director of iFood’s Social Impact, states that “the initiative is essential for us to actively combat discrimination and for couriers to feel supported in cases of discrimination during their working hours”.

“It is a strong initiative for them to feel increasingly valued and respected by the entire ecosystem that encompasses society, restaurants, iFood”, he says. “And that they may seek redress for the harm they have suffered. It’s a big step for iFood to be even more together in the rush of couriers.”

For the call center to be activated, the delivery person must report the case of discrimination in the application. In the menu of app, just click on the option “Alert of serious cases”, and then, “I want to report a serious case”. If there are photos, they can be attached to the report. The delivery person will be contacted by an iFood security team, who will guide him. In 2023, an average of 43 cases of discrimination per month were registered against the app’s workers.
