IBGE will carry out a selection process for an internship; see how it will be – 04/04/2023 – Market

The IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) and the CIEE (Company-School Integration Center) will open registration in May for 316 vacancies to register for internships in 22 different higher education courses (see list at the end of the article) in almost the entire country.

The only state that does not participate in the selection is Roraima. Registration and testing will be done online.

The program is aimed at students from public or private colleges recognized by the MEC (Ministry of Education), starting in the third period and who still have six months or more to complete the course on the call date.

The internship will have a journey of 20 or 30 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, at times to be defined by the IBGE, and may be face-to-face, distance or hybrid. The duration will be two years.

The value of the internship scholarship will be R$ 787.98 for a 20-hour shift, and R$ 1,125.69 for a 30-hour journey. Those selected will also receive a transport allowance of R$ 10 per day of internship if they have to go to the IBGE in person.

According to the announcement, 30% of the vacancies will be allocated to candidates who declare themselves black and brown, and 10% of the vacancies, to candidates with disabilities.

Registration is free and will run from May 8 to 12:00 on May 23, via the Internet. See below how to sign up:

3. At the time of registration, the candidate must inform the place where he/she wants to do the internship, the shift (morning or afternoon)
4. Fill in the requested data, including school information

online test

After registration, an online test will be held between May 8th and May 23rd. Applicants will have to access the same website where the application was made. In it, you will need to locate the “My Processes” link. Then the candidate will click on “Options” and then “Take the Test”.

Access to the test will be allowed after entering the login and password, which will be registered by the candidate at the time of registration. Then, the student will receive a confirmation code via SMS or email. He must enter the code to start the proof.

The candidate will have two minutes to answer each of the 20 questions, five of which are Portuguese, five are mathematics and logical reasoning, five are geography and five are general knowledge and current affairs.

If the student does not respond in the time allowed, the answer will be blank and the test will automatically move on to the next question. If there is a loss of internet connection, the candidate will lose the question he was going to answer at the time of the drop. When the connection is resumed, the exam will resume in the next question.

The competitor will only not miss the question if he clicks the “Answer” button and exits the test”. Thus, he can resume the exam at another time without missing a question. The provisional answer will be released on May 31 and the final one on June 23rd.

Due to the online test, IBGE makes the following recommendations to the candidate:

• Find a quiet and peaceful place
• Take the test individually, without consultation or support from other materials or people
• Try to access the test in a place that offers broadband internet
• Do not open more than one browser window/tab
• Make sure your browser has JavaScript enabled

To move on to the next stage, candidates will have to get at least 50% of the questions right, and the tiebreaker criteria will be as follows: age equal to or greater than 60 years, highest score in Portuguese, highest score in mathematics and logical reasoning, highest score in geography and older age.

Those approved will be called for an interview with the vacancy supervisor or the servers designated by the area. The call will be made by email and students will have up to 24 hours to report receipt of the email, under penalty of being disqualified from the selection process.

After the interview, those chosen will sign the contract, which will last for two years, with a minimum duration of six months.
