‘I suffered humiliation’, laments the former official cover of Marília Mendonça

Lorena Alexandre, who decided to abandon the title, spoke to Domingo Espetacular and vented about the disagreements with the singer’s family

Marília Mendonça’s former official cover girl, Lorena Alexandre, opened her heart about the mess involving her name and the singer’s family. In an interview with Domingo Espetacular, which will air on TV Record this Sunday (4), the artist spoke about her disappointment with the confusion and said that she needed to return to therapy.

After criticism received from the singer’s mother and brother, Ruth and João Gustavo, Lorena Alexandre received many accusations and even verbal attacks on social media and, therefore, decided to abandon the title of “official cover”.

In the chat with the program, she opened up about the situation: “I suffered humiliation, I didn’t want it to be like that”, she stated, before talking about her disappointment with Marília Mendonça’s mother:

“I had Dona Ruth as a foundation in my life. When she attacked me, it hurt me a lot and I went back to therapy,”

Giving up the “cover” title

Lorena Alexandre, who identified herself as the “official cover of Marília Mendonça”, decided to abandon the title. The decision comes days after a series of exchanges of barbs with the singer’s mother and brother, Mrs. Ruth and João Gustavo. “Opportunism is not my nature,” she said on social media.

In a statement published on social media, the singer declared:

“I’m Lorena Alexandre, a singer for 18 years. Out of respect for the memory, all the work and the legacy left by Marilia Mendonça, who has always been openly against hate spread on the internet, attackers, people focused on intrigue and gossip, I will be removing the term ‘official cover’ from my social networks and work material ”.

Lorena stated that she has been covering Marília Mendonça since 2019 and that her work was recognized by the artist herself.

“To avoid further wear, controversies, intrigues and things that I believe in my heart that Marília would disapprove of, I prefer to take a peaceful position and publicize my decision in respect for the legacy of the Queen of Suffering. My conscience is clear,”
