Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES) spoke to journalists this Thursday morning (2nd), and said that he is still “undecided” about his resignation, after announcing his removal from the Senate and saying that the former president Jair Bolsonaro tried to coerce him into a coup d’état, in a live on social networks, during the night.

The parliamentarian seems to have changed his mind about resigning from office, after receiving support from senators and Senate advisors, and said that the announcement was an “outburst” on his social network. “There are times when we feel like leaving, because here you are put in a position as if you want to take advantage of something. But I cannot leave my team. I have not made a decision about resigning from the position”, he said.

During the interview, he confirmed that in December of last year he met with Bolsonaro and then deputy Daniel Silveira (PTB-RJ) and that he received a request to record a conversation with Moraes. The objective would be to create a situation that would prevent the inauguration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The parliamentarian says he is available to the Federal Police to give testimony about Bolsonaro’s alleged pressure for a coup. “It’s inevitable. Of course I’ll have to clarify, of course. I didn’t do that before because of not exposing Minister Alexandre”, said Marcos do Val, in a press conference in the Senate.
