The Chamber of Deputies approved on the night of this Wednesday (3) the urgent request for the Draft Legislative Decree (PDL) 111/23, by deputy Fernando Monteiro (PP-PE), which suspends excerpts from the decrees of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) that change the legal framework for basic sanitation. The urgency was approved by 322 votes in favor and 136 against.

According to the author, decree 11,467/23 would distort the concept of a regionalized structure for the provision of sanitation services in order to avoid bidding, informed Agência Câmara. Deputies are analyzing the merits of the matter. PDL 111/23 is attached to eleven other projects, including PDL 98/23, reported by deputy Alex Manente (Cidadania-SP).

Manente presented a favorable opinion on PDL 98/23, authored by deputy Evair Vieira de Melo (PP-ES). For the rapporteur, the decree does not go through the legislative process and the intended regulation goes against the rules of the law.
