Recreation and visits to museums opened the program, which is free. Participation must be scheduled on Mondays, on the Culture Portal

Manaus (AM) – Fun and adventure marked the opening of the 2024 Holiday Festival, which took place on Wednesday afternoon (10). With a special program, children who are on school break enjoyed the afternoon at the Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia, Avenida Silves (formerly Bola da Suframa), Distrito Industrial. Participation is free, but must be scheduled on the Culture Portal (cultura.am.gov.br), on Mondays, when registration spaces open.

According to the manager of the Art and Education Center of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, Ricardo Lopes, activities in cultural spaces encourage imagination and highlight the city’s cultural heritage.

“We are going to take the festival to several cultural spaces, starting with Povos da Amazônia. On this visit, children, in addition to having more recreation and games, have the opportunity to discover the museums and exhibitions present here”,

highlighted the manager.

Social worker Alessandra Pereira accompanied her stepson Pedro, aged 8, who participated in the event for the first time. “This initiative is important because it takes children away from computers and cell phones. This way, they learn to interact more with other people. In Pedro’s case, he’s very shy, so I brought him so he could loosen up more”, said Alessandra.

Festival veteran, Caleb Viana, 11 years old, had the chance to discover another cultural space. “I have already visited several places, but this is the first time. It’s really cool because it helps me distract myself, interact with colleagues and exercise,” he said.

For father Rosenildo Viana, who took advantage of his time off from work to accompany his son, it is very important that they have an activity different from what they do at home on vacation. “Caleb waited a long time for this moment, he kept demanding us when he found out that registrations were open”, he concluded.

The Holiday Festival is part of the State Department of Culture and Creative Economy’s holiday calendar, bringing a great program, including musical shows with artists, theatrical performances, visits to cultural spaces, popular games, interactive workshops and others. The spaces offer activities aimed at children aged 3 to 12, accompanied by their parents or guardians.
