Holiday Festival 2023 starts with programming at Cineteatro Guarany and Palácio Rio Negro, this Thursday

In this sixth edition, the festival established partnerships with entities and groups to promote workshops and tours on the Amazonbus

Manaus (AM) – The 2023 Holiday Festival, promoted by the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, starts this Thursday (07/06) with a diversified program for children, from 3 to 12 years old, to enjoy the school recess . Children’s theater, walks through the historic center of Manaus and cultural spaces, as well as arts, dance and socio-educational workshops are on the schedule for this sixth edition of the festival. All participation is free.

This Thursday, Friday and Saturday (06, 07 and 08/07), the Children’s Theater Circuit takes place, from 3 pm to 5 pm, starting at Cineteatro Guarany with theatrical presentations, then in the gardens of the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center, where recreational activities promoted. Both cultural spaces are located on Avenida Sete de Setembro, downtown Manaus. The cinema has a capacity for 94 seats and access is on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to the manager of the Art and Education Center of the Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy, Ricardo Lopes, the festival reaches its sixth edition this year, with the proposal to offer educational and cultural activities to children and those responsible for them.

“The festival allows children and their families to get to know our cultural equipment better, to make a historic visit, knowing and valuing heritage education, but also to have their leisure time, games and the possibility of watching artistic presentations”,

he said.

The Holiday Festival continues with programming until the 29th of July, and some activities, although free, require registration at the Portal da Cultura (cultura.am.gov.br), with two vacancies per CPF.

Upcoming activities:

Date: July 12th, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Tour through the Historic Center and Educational Spaces, with the support of Amazonbus. The itinerary includes the Bosque da Ciência, at the National Institute for Research in the Amazon (Inpa) and the Fonte do Saber Station, at the Águas de Manaus headquarters, both in Aleixo. Departure and return from Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, close to Teatro Amazonas. The presence of the person responsible for the child on the tour is required. There will be 65 vacancies with registration opening on July 10, from 9 am to 12 pm, on the portal.

Date: July 15th, from 2pm to 6pm
Children’s City Holiday Festival
At Parque Cidade da Criança, in Aleixo, children will attend the play “Lá vem o Teatro”, by Barquinho Infância, and participate in recreational activities. The program also includes rocket building workshops with PET bottles and recycling. Registration for workshops will open on July 12, from 9 am to 12 pm, on the portal.

Date: July 19, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
Tour through the Historic Center and Educational Spaces, with the support of Amazonbus. The route includes the Science Forest at the National Institute for Research in the Amazon (Inpa) and the Fonte do Saber Station, at the Águas de Manaus headquarters, both in Aleixo. Departure and return from Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, close to Teatro Amazonas. The presence of the person responsible for the child on the tour is required. There will be 65 vacancies with registration opening on July 17, from 9 am to 12 pm, on the portal.

Date: July 22nd, from 3pm to 6pm
Fun and Art at the Largo Gallery. The program includes a chat with cartoonists, a visit to the exhibition and recreational activities at Largo de São Sebastião, downtown. Open to the public.

Date: July 29th, from 9 am to 12 pm
Fun and People’s Art, at the Cultural Center of the Peoples of the Amazon (CCPA), on Avenida Silves, Crespo. Theatrical show, capoeira presentation, in addition to Hip Hop workshops for beginners; of Art and Inclusion, aimed at visual artists and art students, and of Teatro Lambe-Lambe. There will be 30 spots for each workshop, with registration open on July 26, from 9 am to 12 pm, on the portal.
