Manaus (AM) — Amazonas obtains favorable numbers that indicate the growth of female presence in entrepreneurship. According to a study by Sebrae, based on data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), in 2021, enterprises led by women made up an average of 30% of the State’s total number, with 193.5 thousand businesses. Among the main sectors are: commerce, with 41.12%, and services, 37.49%.

In Manaus, businesswoman Rayana Pinho, creator of ‘Bazar da Rayana’, stands out with her entrepreneurial initiatives. The first edition of this year takes place this Friday (19) and Saturday (20), at Shopping São José, located on Avenida Cosme Ferreira, São José neighborhood, in front of Maternidade Ana Braga, East Zone of the city.

The action, popularly known as ‘Giant of the North’, presents new features and will have more than 100 participating entrepreneurs. The goods will be sold at a price of R$1 to R$150. With free entry, the idea, according to the businesswoman, is to reach all audiences.

“We are opening the new season of ‘Bazar da Rayana’ with lots of new features. The event is thought out, designed and executed with great wisdom and care so that we can increasingly show the strength of our workers, freelancers and entrepreneurs”,

said Rayana Pinho.

In total, there will be more than 50 stands at the event with products from different segments, such as men’s, women’s, children’s fashion, plus size and beach, shoes, makeup, jewelry, cosmetics, handicrafts, toys, accessories, items and gift options.

Considered the biggest entrepreneurship event in Manaus and a reference in the East Zone, the bazaar maintains the ‘prize-winning arrival’ dynamic, in this edition, by presenting a shopping voucher worth R$10 to R$20 customers who arrive first, in each day.

“We will release a total of 40 vouchers so that our visitors can discover and purchase products from our exhibitors. The idea is to massively move and heat up the city’s economy. Our entrepreneurs need this opportunity to grow and expand their business”, he added.

Expansion of the sector

The capital of Amazonas is the 22nd city among the 101 most populous in Brazil with the best conditions for entrepreneurship, according to the ranking of the Entrepreneurial Cities Index (ICE) for the period 2022/2023.

According to the ranking, Manaus is in 13th when the item evaluated is “entrepreneurial culture”, described as “interest of people and institutions in the municipality in entrepreneurship” and also in 22nd when evaluating “market”, defined as “best economic development and more potential customers.”

“This means that we are on the right path, to increasingly enhance the statistics that place us as the city that presents the best conditions for entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is very important that we embrace this type of extra source that has already saved many people from hunger and poverty”, he detailed.
