The Ministry of Health begins this Monday (27) a new immunization campaign against Covid-19 with Pfizer’s bivalent vaccine. The immunizer is an update against the original strain of the coronavirus and the omicron subvariants.

Initially, the vaccine will be applied only to risk groups. According to the folder, immunization will be carried out in phase 1 in people over 70 years of age, immunocompromised, indigenous, riverside and quilombola people; in phase 2, people aged between 60 and 69 years old; in phase 3, pregnant and puerperal women; and in phase 4, health professionals.

The expectation is that, from the month of March, the vaccination schedule will be open to other groups. In addition, the bivalent vaccine will be applied to those who have already taken at least two doses. That is, those who have only taken one dose so far will still have to take the second dose of the first version of the vaccine to be able to take the bivalent.
