Manaus (AM) – According to a survey by the Brazilian Association of the Pet Products Industry (Abinpet), Brazil has more than 85 million dogs and cats and, of these, about 0.5% have a health plan. The reality is no different in the North region, where a very low percentage of the more than 7 millions of domestic animals – being Manaus responsible for more than 697 thousand – are insured in case any unforeseen event happens.

To conquer a significant portion of this enormous business potential, the Petlove Group – largest pet ecosystem in Brazil – arrives in the Amazon region with affordable health plans for dogs and cats, with the mission to ensure the health and well-being of animals, as well as peace of mind and financial security for tutors in times of need .

Manaus joins Belém in the list of municipalities in the North region that already have the health services of the Petlove Group, the forecast is that the North states represent 5 thousand lives served by the service. The pet ecosystem, which operates in all regions of Brazil, expects to reach around 100 cities by the end of the year, with a 200% growth in new lives still in 2023 and revenue of R$ 650 million by 2025.

According to Fabiano Lima, CEO of Petlove’s health division, specific plans for animals are still an alternative little known by the population, even with options that cost from R$ 49.90/month and that bring a series of advantages to benefit consumers from routine consultations and check-ups to more complex situations. Basic care procedures for the pet’s health (such as consultations, main vaccines, emergency care, laboratory tests and simple imaging tests) and veterinary care at home are covered in different modalities different from the plans offered in the region, as well as funeral assistance/ 100% free cremation and microchipping and pet locator.

“Tutors often face unpleasant situations when their pets get sick, ranging from concern for the animals to the unforeseen financial need for veterinary care. The mission of Petlove’s health plans is to democratize access to veterinary services, and, for this reason, our services are regardless of age, size or pre-existing diseases for new members, offering solutions for all customer profiles, with the goal of making pets happier and healthier. Research shows that only 0.5% of dogs and cats have a health plan, a number that shows ample room for growth, improvements and innovations. We are 100% attentive to these opportunities”,

says Lima.

Leader in the sector with over 180,000 pets covered, Petlove currently has around 65% of the market share, with over 3,000 accredited partners in 15 states across the country. Petlove’s health plan services reach the new Amazonian region, offering tutors and pets access to an accredited network that includes, in the city of Manaus, 24 partners, including six clinics – two 24 hours -, three laboratories and 13 autonomous, with home care and specialists in the areas of dermatology, oncology and gastroenterology.

Tutors who adhere to the new feature will still get 100% discount on the first monthly fee, 10% off on all purchases on the website during the entire period of activation of the health plan, in addition to a R$ 45 discount coupon on accommodation on the DogHero platform .

The shortages begin to count from the date the pet is microchipped, with the most essential procedures such as consultations, vaccines, clinical procedures and hospitalizations having only a 45-day grace period; exams and consultations with specialists have 60 days; and for surgeries and anesthesia, the grace period is 180 days because they are more delicate procedures.
