In the same week, Goiás issued a note repudiating the comments on the TBC broadcast. “It is unacceptable that, in the middle of 2023, cases like this still happen, of people approving and finding humor in prejudiced offenses in relation to the physical condition of their fellow man”, reinforced the club.

In addition, journalist Lucas Nogueira apologized publicly through a video posted on his social networks. “I come to the public to apologize to the Emerald fans, the board of Goiás and, mainly, to coach Guto Ferreira. I know I was wrong. I made a comment that sounded prejudiced, but right now I am here to apologize to all of you”, he said. the journalist. “This will not happen again!”

A week after the incident, the episode gained strength, with comments from Guto Ferreira this Sunday, 22nd, after the match against Aparecidense, for the Goiano Championship. “The attitude of the team, in the person of Lucas, was regrettable and dangerous. For me, there is no problem (the joke). I’m a ‘head made’ guy. But he has to be responsible with what he says”, said the coach, in an interview still on the field of play.
