The Institutional Security Office (GSI) informed this Wednesday (31) that it has launched an investigation to investigate the aggression against journalists. This Tuesday (30), press professionals were attacked by security guards of the Venezuelan dictator, Nicolás Maduro, and by GSI agents at the Itamaraty Palace. Reporter Delis Ortiz, from TV Globo, was hit in the chest by a GSI member.

In a note, the agency said that the “incident” will be investigated by the investigation. “Regarding the incident published in the press, which occurred at the Itamaraty Palace, on May 30, 2023, during the Meeting of Presidents of the Countries of South America, the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic informs that an investigation was initiated, by through Ordinance No. 12-Sind/DGES/SE/GSIPR, of May 31, 2023, in order to ascertain the facts. The GSI/PR regrets the episode and sympathizes with the journalist Delis Ortiz”, said the GSI.
