Grupo Fundo de Quintal is the main attraction of Carnachoeira 2023 by Presidente Figueiredo

President Figueiredo (AM) — Carnachoeira 2023, the traditional Carnival party in Presidente Figueiredo (120 kilometers from Manaus), will be held again, between the 17th and 21st, after two years suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It will be five days of revelry. Starting on Friday and ending on Tuesday, with 24 attractions – among them, the group Fundo de Quintal, the biggest pagode band in Brazil, with 45 years of history – which, in addition to providing leisure and entertainment, to the population and to visitors, will move the economy of our city”,

announced Mayor Patrícia Lopes.

The Carnachoeira 2023 project was designed and prepared by the city hall, with responsibility, listening to all segments involved in its realization, so that it can fulfill the objectives of promoting the local economy, generating jobs and income.

“We will have a beautiful, organized event with many opportunities for fun and joy for our population and for tourists, who will have plenty of reasons to stay in our municipality, during the five days of Carnachoeira”,

assured Patricia.

The president of Presidente Figueiredo City Council, councilor Marcos Nascimento, highlighted the work of planning and organizing the event and, in particular, the participatory way in which the event project was prepared, with the participation of all the actors involved in its realization.

“I have no doubt that this will be the best Carnachoeira ever, because the most diverse segments of art, culture, entertainment, tourist trade and public authorities are working together, in a coordinated and transparent way”,

stated.

During the five days, there will be presentations at Parque Corredeira do Urubuí, Praça da Vitória and Vila de Balbina. Among the attractions at the event, in addition to the group Fundo de Quintal, are the main names in the music scene in Amazonas.

The program starts on Friday, with the first Shout of Carnival, in Vila de Balbina, with the participation of the group No Ritmo, starting at 7 pm. At the same time, the program begins at Praça da Vitória, with a children’s dance, a costume contest, inflatable toys and distribution of sweets.

On Saturday, there are musical shows with George Japa, Grupo Frente de Casa, Official 80 bands, Impakto, in addition to the parade of candidates for the title of Queen and King Momo of Carnachoeira. The entire program will take place at Praça da Vitória, starting at 7 pm.

On Sunday, there is programming during the day, from 11 am, in Parque Urubuí, with DJ Pedro Diaz, Cacildis bands, Tik Xote and parade of carnival blocks, on the samba catwalk (Avenida Sucupira), from 6 pm. At 8 pm, the shows will begin in the Praça da Vitória arena, with DJ Jairo, drums from the Aparecida Samba School, band Feras do Forró and Guto Lima.

The party doesn’t stop

On Carnival Monday, it has the national attraction. The group Fundo de Quintal, performs on the stage of the Praça da Vitória arena, at night. With 45 years of history in samba, more than 25 records recorded, the group has become over the years one of the biggest references of the genre, especially in pagode. Even so, from 11 am, there is revelry in Parque Urubuí, with a show by DJ Pedro Diaz and, following that, Débora do Arrocha, Afonsinho Linhares, Rafaela Magalhaes and Rogerinho da Bahia will take to the stage.

In addition to the group Fundo de Quintal, the official items of the bumbás from Parintins, Caprichoso and Garantido, Edmundo Oram and Israel Paulain, will also take to the stage at Praça da Vitória, who will perform a “duel of the bumbás” and more Uendel Pinheiro and the band Já Kero.

On Tuesday, the Carnachoeira program resumes at 11 am, in Parque do Urubuí, with concerts by DJ Pedro Diaz, As Patroas, Belo Encontro band and Kadu Almeida. In the evening, from 7pm onwards, there is a check on the parade of the carnival blocks, a performance by the drums of the Reino Unido da Liberdade Samba School, the Calçada group and the band Os Embaixadores.

“This will be the biggest Carnachoeira in the history of Presidente Figueiredo”,

assured the secretary of Culture and Events, Zandem Ferreira.

Secretary Marden Souza, informed that the city hall launched a public call, so that the owners of hotels, inns and resorts can participate in the cost of the event, and sponsorship notices, to expand the partnership with the private initiative, in addition to government support in the composition cost of the event’s infrastructure.

“We worked with planning, so that we could launch Carnachoeira 2023, with enough time to work on the publicity and, with that, attract partnerships in the general composition of the costs of the event and, still, allow the trade to commercially work the product”,

highlighted the secretary.

Edvan Carias, holder of Semtec, argued that he is confident that Carnachoeira 2023 will be a public success, with significant impacts on the municipality’s economy. “We are living a unique moment for the economy. The management carried out the structural works that were necessary to resume the festive calendar of our municipality and we will begin to reap the fruits of the investments made”, he said.
