Rust shows the marks of time, the action of water, oxygen and, above all, it symbolizes the abandonment of our stories. Discarded and rusty objects they contain memories and are material testimonies of a people. Luciano Wieser forges a path outside conventional spaces, rescuing these objects, listening to them and freeing them to experience other possibilities, thus revealing the poetic and humanized side of machines.
“With rust, we bring the idea of an unconventional museum, and to the catalog the machines of the scene as protagonists, with their details, grooves and expanded singularities, with beautiful images captured to show the spirit of these machines, their movements and the sensation of life provided by technologies”, explains Luciano Wieser. Grupo De Pernas para o Ar researches within animation theater to forge this saying “machine theater”, a mix of sculptures, mechanical inventions, automata and robotic puppets, where the dramaturgy itself arises from the construction process of these unlikely machines and only ends when the other also imagines.
