Grupo Canto da Mata makes a special presentation at a pizzeria in the center of Manaus

Manaus (AM) – On the eve of the dispute of the 56th Parintins Folk Festival, the rhythm of the ox-bumbá will invade Loppiano Pizza. Located in the center of Manaus, the space will feature a special performance by the band Canto da Mata this Friday (26th), starting at 8 pm.

Considered one of the main bovine cadence groups in the Amazon, Canto da Mata prepares a repertoire full of memories for the show. According to singer Mailzon Mendes – one of the band’s vocalists, alongside Alex Pontes –, during the two and a half hours of attraction, the public will remember many good things from the 90’s, including successful tracks by the group, formed in 1994 in Tupinambarana Island.

“Alegria de Dançar”, “Bailado de Bailarina”, “Canto Envolvente”, “Ritmo Quente”, “Boi Altaneiro”, “Swing no Ar” and “Fogo” will not be left out of the setlist, as well as songs by Bois Caprichoso and Guaranteed, recently released. “We are going to play many songs from the bulls of 2023”,

In addition to two dancers, the presentation will feature keyboardist Gilvan Pimentel, invited by the duo, who will release the ‘gogó’ and also play instruments: Mailzon on the Djembê (a type of drum originating in West Africa) and Alex on the guitar. “It’s going to be a magnificent, fantastic night. We will have a lot of boi-bumbá sound and, for sure, the people who will be there will be very satisfied”, points out the artist.

Washed down to an evening of traditional pizzas with regional flavors (trademark of the house), the magic of Parintins promises to be present at Loppiano. The owner of the renowned pizzeria, Rogério Cunha, comments that, just as the Canto da Mata group was instrumental in building the Festival, it is now a staple of the official opening of the beef season at the establishment.

“Our intention is to participate in this cultural show that the Amazon provides for the whole of Brazil. And, for us, valuing Amazonian composers is a great joy. It is very important for us to strengthen this partnership”,
