Protesters against and in favor of President Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT) held demonstrations in Washington DC, in the United States, this Friday (10). They were concentrated in the Blair House area, where the Brazilian chief executive and his entourage are staying. With megaphones, one of the groups protested against the PT and said “Lula, thief, your place is in prison”.
Another group, PT supporters, held signs with phrases in defense of the Yanomami, for the end of hunger in Brazil and “immigrants with Lula”. There were discussions between them, but the respective protests followed simultaneously. The video was made by journalist Luciana Rosa.
Matter of People’s Gazette showed that Lula went to the US with the aim of focusing his agenda on meetings with the country’s radical left. He will meet with President Joe Biden and advocate for the creation of a body called the “Peace Club” to try to end the war in Ukraine. It should also address issues that may benefit the governments of Venezuela and Cuba.
