Manaus (AM) – In the final of the Golden Futsal Series, Grêmio da Amazônia/Sociedade was consecrated as the great champion by winning 5-3 against the Unidos do Alvorada team at the Arena Poliesportiva Amadeu Teixeira, in Manaus. The competition had the support of the Government of Amazonas and the result guaranteed Grêmio a place in the 2023 Taça Brasil de Futsal.
“Futsal is a classic modality in our state, it already has the Amazonian identity and attracts hundreds of fans. With the support of the Government of Amazonas, the Federation did a beautiful job and a unique championship. It is our commitment as a public power to continue investing in events like this to reveal our highest Sports Performance”, highlighted Faar’s CEO, Jorge Oliveira.
In an electrifying game, Grêmio da Amazônia and Unidos do Alvorada were tied 2-2 in normal time. In overtime, working the passes well, Grêmio da Amazônia secured a 5-3 victory over the opponent, becoming the 2022 Gold Series Champion.
Highlight in the match, the team winger, Gianini Oliveira commented on the importance of the title and the vacancy in the Taça Brasil de Futsal.
”I’m very happy, I came from another team in search of new challenges, I accepted the proposal to play for Grêmio and I was champion. Now, we are going to train and prepare for a national championship and our focus is on moving up the division”, he pointed out.
For the president of the Grêmio da Amazônia team, Bruno Saboia, the goal now is the nationwide competition.
“This title represents a lot of will to win, we showed that Grêmio is in the futsal elite in the Amazon tournament. We are going with the best possible team to bring this Cup to Amazonas”, he commented.
