The government is working to obtain a majority on the board of Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency) and, thus, move forward with the energy transition agenda. To this end, he is trying to appoint a director from May onwards, when Hélvio Guerra’s mandate expires.
Advisors involved in the discussions say that Sidnei Bispo is one of the most quoted names. Director at Eletronuclear, he is close to Minister Alexandre Silveira (Mines and Energy).
Currently, Aneel has five directors and there is a division of forces. On one side, there are Fernando Mosna and Ricardo Tili, directors linked to the former executive secretary of Mines and Energy, Efraim Cruz.
Cruz was removed from office by Silveira. In the market, the number 2 in the portfolio was seen as “the strong man in the sector”.
On the other, there are Feitosa and Agnes Costa, who, according to reports, votes technically.
With the departure of Hélvio Guerra, the government believes that it will be possible to obtain a majority, unlocking projects of interest.
