[ad_1]
With the aim of encouraging the practice of sports for children and adolescents with or without disabilities, the Government of Amapá, in partnership with the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), will hold the 5th edition of the Paralympic Festival. The inclusion sports event will take place on Saturday (20) at the Federal Institute of Amapá (Ifap).
The sporting event will bring together dozens of children and teenagers from 8 to 17 years old so that they can have their first contact and get to know, in a playful way, the Paralympic modalities of athletics, bocce, parabadminton and sitting volleyball.
“The Festival is extremely important for discovering new talent. Many young people and boys are idle, not knowing that they can participate in a modality and one day become a great para-athlete and travel the country. Our Parasport has grown every year in the state and is already known nationally for its strength in national competitions”said the Secretary for Sports and Leisure, Rudney Cunha.
The Paralympic Festival takes place in all Brazilian states. The expectation of the CPB is to bring together more than 16 thousand children and young people. Of this audience, 80% will be made up of people with physical, visual and/or intellectual disabilities, and the other 20% will be people without disabilities.
