Manaus (AM) – The Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, through secretary Marcos Apolo Muniz, signed, on the afternoon of this Monday (6), a Technical Cooperation Agreement to raise funds to be allocated to conservation and revitalization actions at the Public Prison Desembargador Vidal Pessoa and Palacete 5 de Setembro, together with the Associação Pró-Cultura e Promoção das Artes (APPA).

According to Secretary Marcos Apolo, the project is considered medium-term, as there is no exact date for its completion.

“It is important to emphasize that there is no financial commitment from the State at this time, only if this is raised from some entities that eventually request compensation from the State. Then yes, the State will do what it has to do. It’s a process that starts now, it will take a few months, maybe years, but it needs to be started, otherwise we won’t get from where we are today”,

said the secretary.

According to the secretary, the proposal is to revitalize these places and hand them over to the population as a space to encourage culture.

“We have been talking about using this space as, in fact, a cultural reference. It has already been requested by some institutions that see in it the possibility of occupation, including social utility, this is all being realized. Our objective now is to restore the heritage. The secretariat has an occupation plan with a structure focused on the creative economy, a space that can offer cultural programs, but we will work on that later on”,

added Muniz.

The cooperation agreement between the parties directs efforts to raise funds from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and other potential sponsors. The initiative reinforces the legal principle of encouraging culture in Amazonas, revitalizing historical heritage, promoting cultural projects, generating employment and income.

“The company identified some possible paths, such as BNDES, which has already been doing this work in some states. We will try to qualify with this institution to have access to resources, in addition to parliamentary amendments, based on projects in the same format that were successful in other states and many public notices that are open in the country”,

reaffirmed the secretary.

Fundraising will occur through the strategic plan “Horizons of Fundraising”, which is a document that brings several paths, including public and private resources, funds from international direct investment companies, based on a historical and economic context within the locality. .
