Minister responsible for managing Bolsa Família points out suspicions of irregular granting to program users
About 1.5 million people will be removed from the list of Bolsa Família beneficiaries in March, as announced this Friday (24th) by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance. This is because there is a suspicion that the values of the social program are being received irregularly.
The information was anticipated by Minister Wellington Dias in an interview with Globo News and confirmed by the portfolio.
By May, at the end of the screening, the federal government expects to cancel 2.5 million transfers, which, according to the minister, are not necessary.
On the other hand, the ministry must carry out the inclusion of people who meet the requirements for granting the benefit, but who had not been contemplated by the government of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the income distribution program.
“Our goal is not to exclude, it is to remove those who do not need it and include those who need the benefit”, explained Dias, in an interview with the channel.
In addition to the 2.5 million cancellations, Dias said that another 2,200 families voluntarily requested to withdraw from Bolsa Família. Cancellation can be done in an application made available by the federal government to users.
There is also the intention to create an extra cumulative benefit for larger families. During Bolsonaro’s administration, the amount was fixed, R$ 600, for families with only one member and up to seven members.
“It doesn’t make any sense. Therefore, we will also have an extra value per capita, to serve larger families ”, he said, emphasizing that the final word will be from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
