The vice-president recalled that a fleet renewal program was valid during 2023. The objective was to remove heavy vehicles that had been in circulation for more than 20 years from circulation. With limited benefits, the program made R$1 billion in tax credits available in 2023 for automakers. There were R$700 million for trucks and R$300 million for buses. A final balance on the use of resources was not released. For buyers, whether individuals or legal entities, the discount ranged from R$33,600 to R$99,400 per vehicle – the discount was greater on more expensive models. The program included light, semi-light, medium, semi-heavy and heavy trucks, as well as urban and highway buses. “It provided an important incentive. Based on social criteria, cars up to R$ 120 thousand, energy and environmental efficiency, and industrial density.
