The interim president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Glauco Wamburg, was dismissed from his position this Wednesday (5) after the revelation of excessive expenses with tickets and per diems for trips mainly to Rio de Janeiro, where he has a fixed residence.
He would have spent about R$65,000 from public coffers, of which more than R$15,000 were spent on daily rates, according to Metrópoles’ calculation based on data from the Transparency Portal and the official agenda.
The exoneration ordinance was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (see in full) signed by Minister Rui Costa, of the Civil House. In place of Wamburg, the current budget director of the municipality, Alessandro Stefanutto, takes over.
Wamburg was a civil servant and was appointed to the position by the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi (PDT), in February this year. However, the dismissal was already being considered due to “conflicts” with Lupi’s team.
